General Health Requirements
1) ALL in-state and out-of-state alpacas must have a Certificate of Veterninary Inspection
(health paper) completed not more than 30 days prior to the last date of the show for each
alpaca transported to the show. The certificate to be completed by your veterinarian. Ohio
does not require other testing. All alpacas entering the venue must be microchipped. (Due
to Government Regulations, there will be NO re-micro chipping on the fairgrounds of out of
state alpacas coming to the show). The alpaca's name, microchip number and location of microchipo must be listed on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for each alpaca entered in the venue and will be checked upon entering the facillity.
2) Additional Health Test Required by AOA for entrance into our show: a negative (BVDV)
bovine viral diarrhea virus PCR test. The negative test result,
lab initials and date of testing must be noted by your veterinarian on the Certificate of
Veterinary Inpsection. Questions on the PCR test are to be
directed to Mary Reed at 216-387-3509.
3). All Exhibitors are required to provide the Show Superintendent with a photo copy of the
original Certificate of Veterinary Inspection that shalll be retained in the permanent show
records.
4). A representative from the show committee will verify and examine health papers.
5). Evidence of infectios or communicable disease, failure to produce the necessary documents
for health certtification and BVDV testing, or lack of microchip will result in your alpaca
being denied entry to the venue.
6). Due to Government Regulations, there will be NO re-micro chipping on the fairgrounds of
out of state alpacas coming to the show. If a microchip can not be located, the alpaca will
not be permitted in the facililty or shown.
